I’m Edwin Castro from Altadena, California, USA, and I am the sole winner of the record-breaking $2.04 billion jackpot on February 14, 2023. The California Lottery’s mission to provide supplemental funding for public education—ranging from schools to colleges—makes this a significant win for the state. Having personally benefited from the California public education system, it’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my win will also have a major positive impact on the state’s schools.
I’m beyond excited right now, and I want you and your family to share in the joy we’re feeling today. I’ve made the decision to donate a portion of my winnings, along with other contributions, to launch a charity project in partnership with PowerBall Lottery International. This initiative will bring happiness to people around the world each year, starting in 2024.
